Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team. This role will be responsible for leading all corporate tax functions and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This position is based in the Bay Area.

Onsite Working Requirements : Hybrid, 3x onsite

In this role, you will:

• Manage and review the tax provision under ASC 740 including the effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, tax valuation, and preparation of tax footnotes and financial statement disclosures
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations on tax accounts
• Manage and review federal and state tax returns, quarterly tax estimates, extension calculations and payments, R&D tax credit including coordination with outside service providers
• Oversee sales and use tax compliance for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings
• Manage foreign subsidiaries statutory tax compliance and transfer pricing
• Maintain compliance with SOX controls and drive continuous improvement in tax processes
• Assist with tax forecasts and perform tax analysis for planning and decision making
• Conduct tax research, provide recommendations, evaluate tax changes, and execute strategies to mitigate risk
• Oversee all areas of tax including property tax, franchise tax, tax audits, and tax notices
• 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within a public company environment
• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Masters in taxation or CPA preferred)
• Strong understanding of tax accounting, reporting, and compliance
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate tax issues
• A proactive, high-performance mindset with strong work ethic
• Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
