Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Build an Aviation Career You’re Proud Of

StandardAero is one of the world’s leading independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers for commercial aviation, business aviation, military and industrial power customers.

Your work ties us all together, helping our teams function and operate. Experience opportunities to learn and be a part of an organization that has your back. And with competitive compensation and total rewards, you’ll also enjoy our great perks. Work with the latest technologies and techniques in the aviation industry to source materials, manage inventory, and coordinate logistics. You’ll ensure we have what we need to service our customers.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team and support our RB211 engine program. The intern will work closely with the Finance Manager and other key stakeholders, gaining hands-on experience in financial analysis, cost management, and budget tracking within the aerospace MRO sector. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field to apply their academic knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis related to the RB211 program, including budget vs. actual comparisons, cost forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Cost Management: Support the tracking of maintenance and repair costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring accurate and timely data entry for expense tracking, invoicing, and purchase orders.
  • Budget Assistance: Help with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing support during month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
  • Invoice Processing: Assist in reviewing and processing vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate allocation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the finance, procurement, and operations teams to understand key cost drivers and improve financial reporting accuracy.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare financial documentation, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders, including summaries of key financial metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with financial software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn about the aerospace and MRO industry.
  • Prior internship or coursework in finance, accounting, or aviation management is a plus but not required.

What You Will Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in financial operations within the aerospace industry.
  • Understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial planning in a technical and highly regulated environment.
  • Opportunity to learn from experienced finance professionals and develop skills in financial analysis and data management.
  • Networking opportunities within a leading MRO company.

Application Process:

To apply, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this position and how your background aligns with the role. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
