About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Hawaiian Gardens, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Hawaiian Gardens, CA
• Schedule: 6 hours, 1 session a week for 1.5 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Fluent in English and Spanish to provide bilingual instruction.
• Experience working with middle school students with Autism or intellectual disabilities .
• Skilled in foundational literacy and math instruction , including comprehension strategies, writing organization, and math manipulatives.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to maintain engagement through hands-on and interactive teaching methods.
• Background in Special Education or related tutoring experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide bilingual instruction in English and Spanish for foundational literacy skills, including reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and writing (language conventions, organization, and traits).
• Reinforce foundational math skills , including multiplication, division, and fractions, using repetition, visual supports, and manipulatives.
• Teach reading strategies, such as identifying main ideas, key details, and cause-and-effect relationships.
• Support writing development by helping the student construct complete paragraphs with topic sentences, supporting details, and conclusions.
• Use structured routines, clear directions, and positive reinforcement to maintain focus and engagement.
• Incorporate movement, hands-on activities, and games to motivate learning and make lessons relatable.
• Integrate student interests, such as online games and soccer, into academic activities to enhance engagement.
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies according to the student’s IEP goals and learning needs.
