Job Description

Senior Designer & Sales Professional

Luxury Residential Pools and Outdoor Living

Tucson, Arizona | Southern Arizona Territory

About Our Client

Our client is a luxury residential pool and outdoor living builder based in Southern Arizona. Established in 2009, the company specializes in custom pools, spas, and full backyard environments for mid- to high-end homeowners, including second and third-home owners.

Projects frequently exceed six figures and may include outdoor kitchens, shade structures, water features, and integrated landscape elements. Our client is known for a design-forward approach, premium craftsmanship, and a consultative client experience.

Role Overview

The Senior Designer and Sales Professional is a consultative sales role responsible for generating new business, designing custom outdoor living environments, and closing high-value residential projects.

This is not an entry-level role and it is not a lead-only position. The successful candidate is a hunter who actively builds their own pipeline while also converting inbound opportunities. The role requires a balance of sales discipline, technical design knowledge, and the ability to sell value rather than price.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Generate new business through self-sourced prospecting, referrals, builder relationships, community involvement, and networking
  • Manage inbound leads while building and maintaining an independent sales pipeline
  • Lead a structured, consultative sales process from initial conversation through signed contract
  • Sell on design quality, craftsmanship, and long-term value rather than discounting
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and consistent follow-up
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales performance targets

Design and Technical Responsibilities

  • Design custom pools and outdoor living environments using Pool Studio or comparable 3D design software
  • Conduct on-site property evaluations including measurements, access, grading, utilities, and constructibility
  • Translate client vision into buildable, code-compliant designs
  • Balance creativity with budget discipline and feasibility
  • Collaborate with construction, drafting, engineering, and permitting teams
  • Present designs and proposals clearly and professionally

Client Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during the sales and design phase
  • Educate clients on materials, construction methods, timelines, and expectations
  • Manage revisions while protecting margin and client trust
  • Ensure a smooth handoff from sales to construction
  • Represent our client with professionalism and credibility

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, the Senior Designer and Sales Professional will:

  • Independently manage a healthy pipeline of qualified residential projects
  • Consistently close multiple high-value contracts per month
  • Generate a meaningful portion of business through self-sourced efforts
  • Sell confidently without relying on price concessions
  • Operate within a defined sales process while maintaining individual selling style
  • Positively influence sales discipline and professionalism across the team

Required Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 or more years of professional sales experience in residential pools, outdoor living, landscape construction, or related residential construction fields
  • Proven success closing high-dollar, consultative sales
  • Demonstrated ability to self-generate leads and build referral networks
  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort discussing construction concepts
  • Experience working directly with design-conscious or high-net-worth homeowners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience selling residential pools or full backyard projects
  • Proficiency with Pool Studio or similar 3D design platforms
  • Familiarity with Arizona permitting and construction workflows
  • Background in a design-forward, premium brand environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Commission-based compensation with uncapped earning potential
  • Draw against commission
  • Company-paid medical insurance
  • Optional dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Structured onboarding and sales training through Warrior Selling
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development

Why Join Our Client

This role offers the opportunity to join a high-performing, design-forward organization where sales excellence is valued and top performers are rewarded. You will design meaningful projects, work with discerning clients, and play a key role in shaping the future of a leading luxury pool and outdoor living builder in Southern Arizona.
