Alida Biosciences is a VC-backed startup in San Diego pioneering technologies in epigenomics to empower researchers. Our mission is to enable scientific breakthroughs in gene regulation and epitranscriptomics , advancing both fundamental research and clinical applications. In this role, you will analyze and interpret internal and external epitranscriptomic data sets using our EpiScout analysis software and ad hoc approaches. You will collaborate with leading researchers and support customers to maximize our technologies' potential. Your work may include custom analysis and co-authoring scientific publications, pushing the boundaries of epigenomics research. Key Responsibilities Conduct custom bioinformatics analyses and develop novel methods for epigenomics research. Interpret disease sample data from a systems biology perspective. Collaborate with researchers and developers to analyze datasets using innovative techniques. Engage with customers to understand their use of our software, customize outputs, and work with engineers to improve features. Drive software improvements, including data visualization and new analysis tools. Support the commercial team in developing methods to enhance our technology's scientific impact. Assist in preparing scientific publications with customers and partners. Requirements Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or related field. At least 6 years of postgraduate experience in bioinformatics analysis of complex genomic data. Proficiency in Python and R; familiarity with Unix environments; C++ is a plus. Strong foundation in algorithms, machine learning, statistics, and data visualization. Experience with methods like MeRIP-seq, CHIP-Seq, DNA/RNA methylation detection, nanopore RNA sequencing, motif analysis, mutation calling, and differential enrichment analysis.
