Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our team with the final preparation and mailing of immigration filings. This part-time role is ideal for a current law student who is interested in immigration law or looking to gain experience in a professional legal setting. Our entire team works remotely; however, this role is in-person at our Richmond office and requires the ability to work independently without on-site supervision. Key Responsibilities Print, organize, and package immigration petitions and applications for filing with USCIS Ensure accuracy and completeness of documents prior to packaging Drop completed filing packages at the designated FedEx drop box or shipping location Open, scan, name, and electronically file incoming mail and correspondence Maintain consistent, clear communication with the team via Google Chat and email, even when working independently Maintain confidentiality and follow internal organizational procedures for document handling Assist with occasional administrative or clerical tasks as needed Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a JD program or pre-law undergraduate program Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proven reliability and ability to follow through with assigned tasks Comfort working independently with limited supervision Strong independent work ethic and time management skills Proficiency with technology (Google Workspace, PDF editing, scanning, etc.) Effective communicator, especially in a remote/digital setting (Google Chat, email) Interest in immigration law is a plus Ability to be physically present in our office and to transport filings to local drop boxes Compensation Compensation to be determined based on experience How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief statement of interest to management@sumnerimmigration.com, including your availability (if known at this time) and any relevant experience Seniority Level Internship Employment Type Part-time Job Function Legal Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Sumner Immigration Law by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr Sumner Immigration Law
