How-To Geek is looking for a Programming Features Writer to cover a wide range of programming topics, from beginner-friendly explanations to in-depth tutorials, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The How-To Geek team creates content that helps millions of readers make sense of technology. We publish guides, tutorials, explainers, and walkthroughs on everything from software development to coding best practices. Now we’re looking to grow our programming content and bring in freelance writers who can make complex topics approachable and engaging.
Job ResponsibilitiesConsistently contribute high-quality tutorials, guides, and explainers under deadlines.
Pitch ideas for new programming content, tutorials, and explainers.
Research technologies, frameworks, and tools to create authoritative content.
Write content that balances technical accuracy with accessibility for multiple audience levels.
Coordinate with the editorial team for assignments, revisions, and feedback.

Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following:
Relevant experience writing and editing technical content in English.
Ability to explain complex programming concepts clearly and accurately.
Hands-on experience with programming, developer tools, and frameworks.
Familiarity with multiple programming languages and ecosystems is a plus.
Ability to balance analytical thinking with an engaging writing style.
