Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fiber Optic Technician to join our team on a 1099 contractor basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of fiber optic installations and maintenance projects across Fayetteville, NC. and surrounding areas, with occasional travel required to other regions. Current Travel opportunities are Arkansas, Michigan, and Texas.

The IDEAL Candidate will have a strong background in fiber optic cable installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting. You must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently with minimal supervision (via: Phone, Text, Video Chat) while maintaining high-quality standards, and superior customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and termination of fiber optic cables in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Perform fiber splicing, fusion splicing, and troubleshooting tasks.
• Test fiber optic connections and setting up CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) with speed verifications on internet setups.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards for all work completed.
• Communicate effectively with clients and managers regarding work order status and needs.
• Travel to different job sites, as needed.
• Jobs will be dispatched to your phone by 7 am via application. Log-in to application to active your route before your appointment time.
• Prefer 2 years of experience as a Fiber Optic Technician but will train anyone willing to learn the following topics.
• Proficiency in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic cabling and components.
• Ability to use OTDR and fiber optic test equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel required). Work Truck or Van is a must
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 60 lbs) as needed.
• Must possess a strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with network construction and fiber optic troubleshooting.
• Certification in Fiber Optics (e.g., BICSI or equivalent).
• Ability to work in diverse environments (indoor and outdoor). Is a must
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
